and so I begin anew...

...and after taking 6 months to travel and blog what do you think I'd do next... travel and blog. Over the next month you'll be hearing about various and sundry people. For starters, the band guys: Matt, John, Justin and of course Jason (AND Aaron, our sound guy). I'll be the one selling T-shirts, photos and CDs for these guys. I really enjoy it so far and actually have gained a HELLUVA lot of respect for how tough the gig can be for these young artists and musicians. It's NOT for the lazy or uninspired. They sweat like hell carrying ALL their equipment up on stage, setting it up AFTER the headliner's put their gear down (who've usually went through the same process in "moving on up"), get what little time there is left to get their "sound check", change into newer/fancier/soon to be sweatier clothes and hit the stage ready to play (usually already beaded-up with sweat). It's long as HELL days to be able to enjoy the 45-60 minutes of playing on stage. You then pack up, hit the road for sometimes up to 4 more hours of driving to cut down on the next days drive, catch a few hours sleep, get up, drive a few more hours, load into the next venue/bar/fair and start it all over again (or that was the last weekend's chain of events). We're headed to Iowa, Nebraska, Montana, Oregon and Washington State over the next month. Come along and join the fun online, of course (it'd be a little tight in the van).
